Internships
Math majors often want to see firsthand how the material they’re studying will translate to a rewarding career. Internships and apprenticeships are excellent vehicles for doing just that. Once students have secured an internship, they can apply to earn academic credit by taking MATH 388. Students should read the internship guidelines (at left) before beginning the search process, as some regulations may impact the type of positions that can be accepted. For instance, internships cannot be paid if academic credit is also being given. After students have secured a suitable position, they can apply to receive appropriate academic credit for the experience by completing the proposal for an internship. Note: international students who are applying for Curricular Practical Training (CPT) normally complete an apprenticeship.
